The UNICUC Center for Research and Training La main à la Pâte (CERTLMAP) works with UNICUC member universities to improve the quality of science and technology education in the member universities of UNICUC. The Union of Christian Universities of the Caribbean (UNICUC). Its offers them a range of resources for the classroom and varied, interactive and multimedia training, in the service of a living science, attractive, in tune with societal issues.
We believe that science education at school and at university should be based on:
A living science, that is to say realistic, attractive and contemporary science and technology that highlights new knowledge, as close as possible to the scientific methods and practices that produce it. And which, in doing so, make it possible to arouse a taste for science and its applications, even vocations, so that students can orient themselves towards the scientific and technical professions of tomorrow.
A science for all, that is to say a science rooted in the environment close to children and young people, their daily lives, but also in tune with their own abilities, talents and personality. It must be accessible to all, in particular to pupils in difficulty and with special educational needs. It carries meaning and contributes to developing the intelligence, sensitivity and individual and collective fulfillment of all children in an inclusive process. The Union of Christian Universities of the Caribbean (UNICUC) plans to provide member universities with documents and materials to initiate young academics in the field of science and research.
